Frequently Asked Questions
What are Vignette brushes made from?
Vignette's bristles vary from brush to brush for optimal performance. Most are made with high-quality synthetic fibers, and select brushes are made with premium natural fibers. B5, B9, & B10 are all made with cruelty-free pony hair. B18 (coming soon!) is made with cruelty-free goat hair. Natural hair used in our brushes is a byproduct of other industries, meaning no animal is raised or harvested exclusively for brush manufacturing. By repurposing this material, we help maximize the use of available resources and reduce waste. The hair is then carefully cleaned, boiled, washed, baked, and sorted by length through a stringent quality-control process to ensure a safe, durable, and high-performing brush.
Are your brushes cruelty-free?
Yes. Vignette Brush Co. brushes are 100% cruelty-free.
Where are your brushes manufactured?
Vignette brushes are individually handcrafted in New York with components from Thailand.
Are your brushes only for professional makeup artists?
Vignette brushes are for everyone. They were developed by professional makeup artists, which means they are crafted for exceptional performance and long-lasting durability. Professional-quality tools can make a noticeable difference in your makeup applications.
Can beginners use these brushes?
Of course! Whether you're a working professional or a makeup lover, our brushes are designed to be intuitive, versatile, and easy to use. Professional-grade brushes are designed to make makeup application easier and more precise.
How do I clean my brushes?
Wet the bristles with lukewarm water and gently cleanse with a mild soap or brush soap. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, then reshape the bristles and lay flat to dry.
Avoid soaking the ferrule (the metal part of the brush), drying brushes upright, storing brushes while damp, or using harsh alcohol-based cleaners, as these can damage the bristles and shorten the life of the brush.
How long will my brushes last?
With proper care and cleaning, high-quality makeup brushes can last for many years.
Do your brushes shed?
Minimal shedding may occur when a brush is new, but excessive shedding is not normal. Please contact us at hello@vignettebrush.com if you have any questions about a particular brush.
